Tesla files for IPO and plans to halt roadster production

Tesla -known for the high powered electric sports cars- filed for an initial public offering of $100 million. Meanwhile the news became known that the production of the Roadster will stop next year.
Lotus Cars stops with the production of the Lotus Elise in 2012. Because the Lotus Elise is the source for the Tesla Roadster, Tesla has no source for their Tesla Roadster anymore. This results in a huge problem for Tesla, since the introduction of the Model S (with already 2000 deposits made) is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. And a new roadster does not arrive before 2013.
IPO
The pioneer of electric cars filed a so called S1 form to the Securities and Exchange Commission in America. This is a proposal for an IPO of the company. The number of shares issued and their price is still unknown.
