Galibier: the next Bugatti!

Submitted by Melle on March 17, 2010 – 2:13 pmNo Comment

Bugatti shows us the 16C Galibier Concept. The official story is to get the peoples opinion, but it would be strange if this supercar is not the successor of the Bugatti Veyron. “The Galibier is the most exclusive, elegant and most powerful four-door car in the world,” according to Bugatti. “It is a concept that should prove which side Bugatti future holds. The feedback we have received back from potential customers and opinion leaders, are very postive. ”

Ettore Bugatti made cars under the motto  Arte – Forme – Technique. This concept is also applied on the Galibier. In the past Bugatti was the first who applied aluminum wheels on production cars. In the Galibier, special mixes used in carbon fiber, aluminum and painted parts. Carbon fiber is popular among car makers because it is a very stiff and light material.

The designers have been inspired by the torpedo-like shape of the Type 35. This feature turns back with the Veyron. The spine is an inherited characteristic of the 57S. Under the hood is again the 8.0-liter W16. The four turbos of the Veyron are exchanged with two superchargers, so this car is a bit more tamed than the Veyron. It is assumed that the Galibier has around 800 hp.

The design of the dashboard is reduced to only two clocks. They are in the middle of the dashboard, so the rear passengers can watch exactly what the driver does. The tour billion-watch that is placed on the dashboard, comes from the Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier. It can be removed and used as a wristwatch, pocket watch or even a table clock. Nice for the people without a clock in their house.

Until the name “Galibier is not only one of the most difficult Alpine passes in the Tour de France but also the name of a four-Type 57 who excelled in sportiness and elegance.”

Who is the first to park this car at the beach clubs near Marbella?
