| Juan Antonio Roca's wife arrested in Marbella this morning
Roca is the man at the centre of the real estate corruption Malaya case in the town, and used to be the municipal real estate assessor. María Rosa Jimeno was arrested at home, and is understood to face more money laundering charges. She last made a statement to the judge investigating the Malaya case, Miguel Ángel Torres, last December, when she was released with charges for money laundering remaining outstanding against her. The Malaya case has revealed the huge amount of assets which have been amassed by Juan Antonio Roca during his time in Marbella Town Hall. There have also been three other arrests in the case this morning, among them Roca's 20 year old daughter and son in law. The other arrest is reported to be a Spanish woman, who was reportedly close to Roca. She is said to have sold winning lottery tickets to Roca as a way of money laundering.
Posh misses Spain already
Victoria Beckham singled out Spanish film crews on the red carpet at Elton John's party to open up about how she'll miss living there. Wearing a simple full length white dress, Posh said: "We're very very excited to be moving to LA, of course we're going to really miss Spain. "It's treated us very well, the people have been wonderful and we've had a fantastic coming up for four years now, but we're very excited to be moving to LA now." And she revealed she was still searching for a property in the States before the family move out later this summer. "I'm looking for houses, I'm looking for schools, I've got lots of things that I'm trying to sort out right now," she said. And the former Spice Girl added: "I think it's a fantastic opportunity for David, for our children and for myself too, so we're just very very excited.

Architect claims the Costa del Sol still has room for growth in ...
Municipalities on Malagas coastline have enough land available to expand over the next two decades, within their planning guidelines. This, at least, is the opinion of José Seguí, the architect responsible for drawing up the POT (development plan) for the Western Costa del Sol, speaking at Ecofuturo 2007, the first Andalusian Sustainability Congress, held in Marbella last week. Seguí went on to say that development has increased more slowly in municipalities not directly on the coastline, such as Istán and Ojén, which have higher levels of protection. According to the architect, the POT, which was finally approved by the Junta de Andalucía in June 2006, limits growth in coastal municipalities to the extent that development takes place in an ordered manner, within supra-municipal controls, guaranteeing basic infrastructure as far as water supply and public amenities are concerned.
