Six points on the province’s roads have been black spots for three ...

Over the last three years the same 15 stretches of road have been taking it in turns to top the ranking of the worst accident black spots in the province of Malaga. The latest statistics were released last week in the TCA report (Tramos de Concentracin de Accidentes) produced by the Spanish Traffic Department, which considers a stretch of road a black spot if it has seen three or more accidents in the same year.

Six of these 15 stretches have been on all of the black spot lists since 2004: one on the A-45 (Las Pedrizas) and five on the A-7. Last year the most dangerous spot was on the A-45 near Casabermeja where 12 people were injured in six accidents. This was followed by the stretch near the Herrera Oria exit on the A-7 in the city of Malaga where ten people were injured in ten accidents.

Jailed councillor's tigress recovering at welfare centre

Melody, the two year old tigress that used to belong to Juan Antonio Roca, the jailed Urbanisation councillor in Marbella has now arrived in the Noah's Ark Foundation in Benimantell (Alicante).

Members of the foundation, who were consulted over the state of the animal, suggested that she should immediately be transferred to their installations as her health was starting to become a serious concern.

She is apparently settling in well according to various sources, and is currently in an area with two male tigers, who, like Melody, have had their claws removed.
